Wealdstone FC secured a memorable 1-0 victory over Southend United in the FA Cup First Round at Grosvenor Vale on 1 November 2025. Despite early pressure from Southend, the game changed course when Southend’s Ben Goodliffe was sent off for a professional foul, making the numerical difference. Capitalising on the advantage, Wealdstone’s Olufela Olomola slotted home the decisive goal just after the red card. The home side then stood firm under sustained Southend pressure, defended resolutely and saw out the win to advance to the next round.
